Personality: Theodore is very firm in his beliefs and rarely compromises them, though he has been known to sacrifice them when necessary. As an Auror he constantly feels hamstrung by the bureaucracy and the limitations placed upon them by the law. He believes that Aurors should be free to make their own decisions and do whatever it takes to get the job done, due process be damned.

Character History: Theodore’s father was among the first of those to join Lord Voldemort’s Death Eaters, back in 1955. After Theodore’s mother died less than a year after his birth, accidently killed during a Ministry raid on the Nott family house, he raised his son with every intention of having the boy join the Dark Lord’s forces, but Voldemort’s death put a halt to that. While Artemis maintained his own personal views, he was forced to keep them partially concealed for the next thirteen years, and so Theodore was understandably resistant to accept them.
Sorted into Slytherin at school, Theodore was in the same school year as the legendary Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Unlike the other Slytherins, Nott never really paid much attention to the House divide, and for the most part stayed apart from Draco Malfoy’s gang. He was one of those who stayed uninvolved during the Battle of Hogwarts, and, unlike most of those Slytherin’s with Death Eater fathers, never had any charges brought against him following the battle.
After graduating, Theodore became an Auror, working his way through the ranks due to his ambition and hard work rather than any particular regard for the rules. In particular he became known for setting up long complicated sting operations, leading to suspects convicting themselves. He often clashes with other Aurors, such as Potter himself, over what powers Aurors should have, wanting more power and stronger punishments.
