In his sixth year, he began cracking under the stress Voldemort was putting on him and therefore began neglecting his academics as well as his friends, making him stressed and careless about everything and everyone. He was quicker and more intelligent.

Character History:
During his childhood, Draco got spoilt a lot and taught that he should not socialise with muggle-borns which led to him thinking that he was above his other classmates, especially as he was rich and he often picked on those poorer than him. Although his father wanted him to go to Durmstrang where no muggle-borns were accepted, his mother didn't want him to be so far so they sent him to Hogwarts instead. At Hogwarts he got sorted into Slytherin where he automatically became friends with most people from the same house as him. In the Battle of Hogwarts, Draco regretted most of his decisions and after it he changed his attitude towards muggle-borns and other people in general.
After the Battle, not only his personality changed. He also cut off the people he still spoke to at the time, so he didn't really keep in contact with anyone he knew from when he was a student at Hogwarts although he did sometimes see Ron or Harry or other former students walking around town. He never socialised with them, choosing to keep to himself.
