Character History:
Derek Ritcher almost never came to be until his parents got over their almost instantaneous distaste for one another when they met after one of Aradan’s Quidditch matches at Hogwarts. However, after Hogwarts, Aradan and Lianora started working together in the Department of Mysteries for a few years, they got over the abrasiveness they had for one another. Eventually, tolerance led to sexual tension and Aradan and Lianora had one of those suspiciously quick weddings not long after they alleviated their sexual tension with one another.
But they didn’t mind a new addition to their lives so soon, and Derek was the pride and joy for both of them, especially when a Healer told Lianora couldn’t conceive anymore children after Derek was born. Regardless, she loved her one and only son and constantly told him so as he was growing up, while Aradan made his progeny work a little harder for his approval. When Derek entered Hogwarts, his mother couldn’t have been prouder while his father simply nodded and reminded is boy to make him proud with his grades and his Quidditch skill when he made the house team the following year.
Over the years, Derek has kept most of his grades at Exceeds Expectations or better, except in Potions in the past year and a half. He’s been kept a little distracted with the teenage girls blossoming all around him and hormones running wild when he came off the pitch with a victory for his team. He’s currently been appointed Team Captain and his training his replacement for next term when he’s not with the rest of the team, training for the next match.
